Found right on Malagueta Beach, the Gran Hotel Miramar enjoys all the trappings of the Costa del Sol. White sands, endless sun and azure waters provide the relaxation. But, there’s substance here too. The hotel is perfectly poised to explore the heritage highlights of Málaga, with its grand, Renaissance cathedral just a 15 minutes’ walk away. As the birthplace of one Pablo Picasso, you’ll also find superb museums and galleries dedicated to Málaga’s favourite son. Additionally, Andalucia’s Moorish past lives on in the Alcazaba, a palace-fortress that rivals Granada’s more famous offering.

Holiday itinerary

Day 1: UK/Malaga

Flying into Malaga, your private transfer will meet you at the airport, and drive you to the splendour of the Gran Miramar Hotel. Here, you’ll be welcomed to the traditional charm and stunning outlook. Spend the day at leisure enjoying the delights of the hotel or take a stroll along the beachfront.

Day 2: Malaga

After a relaxing breakfast, spend some time exploring the contrasting city of Malaga with entry to the Museo Picasso, located in the stunning 16th century Buenavista Palace, the museum is home to a collection of 233 pieces by the great master himself with a further 43 on loan from his grandson's foundation. There are works spanning eight decades of the artist's highly prolific and successful career. Since it opened over a decade ago, the Museo Picasso Malaga has become a fixture on the Costa del Sol cultural scene.

Day 3: Malaga

Today enjoy a walking tour of Malaga’s gastronomy combining the city, markets and restaurants.

La Vinoteca-Museum los Patios de Beatas is a delightful, architecturally fascinating space where food and wine live and breathe in harmony. Admire a collection of over 500 wines from Spain and around the world, whilst savouring the tastes and smells of the best gastronomy – all created to complement each other. The wine is served from a revolutionary Enomatic wine dispensing system that ensures all the characteristics and flavours of the wine are preserved throughout, for an enhanced tasting experience. Lunch includes foie gras pie and sweet wine, fish and seafood cream with dry white wine, beef with potato fondant with red wine, assorted cheese with red wine and finally a cheesecake with berries and vanilla and a sweet wine from Malaga.

Day 4: Malaga

Today enjoy a Malaga Tapas tour, the best of Malaga cuisine will be at your fingertips, with your private guide keeping you away from the crowded routes and helping you to discover the history and sacred places that the locals know best. The tour will include seven Tapas tastings in different locations with four drinks, and includes a visit to the Atarazanas Market with your expert gastronomic expert, the market has a very colourful past, being used as a warehouse, military hospital and barracks. In the food market the diverse aromas and colours are to be enjoyed, and there are many opportunities to enjoy exceptional quality produce. The route also covers other landmarks such as an old grocery store from the last century, now turned into an antique shop and other traditional shops. We make a stop at a charming shop for a tasting of freshly cut ham.

Day 5: Malaga/UK

On your last day, your transfer will take you back to Malaga airport and make your flight home.
